2017 Wellness Center Star Award Winners

It is the mission of the United Presbyterian Home Wellness & Fitness Center to supply our residents with the tools they need to maintain or improve upon physical activity, independence, and their lifestyle.  Our goal is to work in conjunction with the various programs of the Home to provide a complete Wellness & Fitness center by including the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, vocational, and environmental dimensions of wellness.  

Our emphasis is on the quality of one’s life as it is affected by their lifestyle habits.  The Wellness & Fitness Center is geared toward empowering each resident through cardiovascular, strength & flexibility training to find higher energy levels, greater mobility, increased self-confidence, and a greater joy of living. Our Wellness & Fitness Center offers a wide variety of user-friendly equipment with many options to meet members’ individual needs and goals, including:

  • Maximus Multi-Station
  • Free Weights
  • Treadmills
  • Elliptical Trainer
  • Nu-Steps
  • Recumbent & Upright Bikes
  • Paramount Inner/Outer Thigh Machine

The benefits of having such a strong Wellness & Fitness Center and programming available are numerous.  These benefits include:

  • Personal Training overseen by ACE Certified Advanced Fitness Specialist
  • Assistance in setting & reaching positive health goals
  • Fitness classes for all skill levels
  • Custom fitness plans with bi-annual testing to measure functional fitness
  • Group activities with opportunities to meet & share with others
  • Two full-time, friendly & knowledgeable staff members
  • Easy access in a non-crowded facility
  • Keep up to date on current health information & develop good patterns for healthy living
  • Coordinated on-campus spa services with Simply Spa (manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, & reflexology) by appointment
