UP Home Residents Present Come to the Manger Christmas Pageant

December 11, 2017

Washington, IA (December 11, 2017) – The United Presbyterian Home will be retelling the story of the birth of Jesus through narration and music at their Christmas Pageant on Wednesday, December 13th at 2:30 PM in the Main Dining Room on campus. The name of the Pageant is Come to the Manger.

Cast members have been practicing for a couple weeks for the annual program. The cast includes over 20 UP Home residents playing the part of angels, shepherds, wise men, narrators, a guide, costume director and, of course, Joseph and Mary.

Spiritual Life Director Andrew Zuehlke has been working with residents to help coordinate the Pageant.  Zuehlke tells us, “This event is so special because we are remembering the miraculous birth of our savior Jesus who came to live, love and pay the price for our sins upon the cross.”

Children from the UP with Kids Day Care will also participate in the pageant, including an employee’s infant playing the role of Baby Jesus.

“ It is special that we are celebrating this glorious truth with the young ones of our community all the way through our campus members---people of all ages celebrating His birth!” said Zuehlke.

Everyone is invited to attend the program which includes the UP Home choir, special music and congregational signing.  After the Pageant, everyone is welcome to stay for refreshments and fellowship.
